Beth in Black by DisneyPsycho Beth in Black by DisneyPsycho
I've had this sketch sitting on my hard drive for a while now, so when I took a break from coloring a commission I decided to color this one really quick. Tried a new coloring style on the eyes, and messed around with different brushes in the background.

This is Miss Beth Webfoot, one of my favorite Darkwing Duck OC's, from the SEKRIT Auld Lang Syne fic of *Zebeckras's. (At least I'm pretty sure it was that one...) Beth tries on a rather daring little black dress that has quite a dramatic affect on a certain crimefighter's sidekick. ;)

I colored this completely without references, so I hope I at least got close!

Yay, you finally saw it! :D

Haha, Beth's cleavage was fun to draw. ;) Your fic gave me an excuse to! How could I not color this sketch. I just adore Beth. Thank you for creating her!

Wow, those eyes ... I want to drown in them, they're just so overwhelmingly beautiful. Combined with the pretty, elegant hairdo and the honest, innocent look she gives us I can very well understand the effect she has on certain males. :D

Heehee, I'm glad. I was really hoping to convey Beth's wonderful kindness and vulnerability here, in a way she hardly is able to because of her incredible timidity. You always say the nicest things. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!

Wow, DP, this is amazing. I really love you flat-coloured CG-stuff; so much life, in spite of the lack of shadows, and damn am I eternally jelly!
Your sense for colours could not get any better. I love the purple background with her black dress, and how it does not clash with her beautiful blue eyes.
Beth is stunning, especially the way you drew her, with her pose, her huge eyes, her raised shoulders and that meek and humble expression on her face.
And woman... dem eyes! Dem eyes!
I ALWAYS love seeing new stuff from you

The lines in the creation of her face are absolutely flawless. (You know it's well-drawn when it's like deliciousness for the eyes.) The lines are just so flowing and smoth and perfectly placed! Ah! I admire your work. It looks simple at first, but it is really, truly, VERY good. Yes, the eyes are colored fabulously, but in cartoonish work like this, it's the lines that give structure and form and grace and beauty and movement to the character. And your lines of her face (and hair) are extraordinarily skillfully executed. The curve of each and every line cannot be improved upon. Sheesh, she's cute. Well done!!! (I wanna draw like you when I grow up.)

haha, I'm kinda verbose (to a fault). But when it comes to commenting on the art I see on DA, I'd rather say something a little more specific than, "wow, that's cool." I like your work, and this piece is a fine example of why I like your work.

Ok, I know I focus a lot on the "lines," but I believe very strongly that, in styles like this, the lines are vitally important! Anyhoo, hopefully I didn't beat the dead horse too much. I just had to emphasize how darned good you are at this.
